Love helping the public? The Brookfield Public Library is seeking a Circulation Associate who excels at building rapport and provides excellent customer service while serving the community. The library will have a brand new facility for Brookfield residents in 2021. We're looking for a person to join the team who is excited as we are about providing services in our new space.
Duties include: checking materials in and out using an automated computer system, providing curbside service to members, sorting and shelving materials, issuing library cards, answering telephones, processing Interlibrary loans, retrieving materials from pick lists, and other assigned tasks.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Knowledge and skills: Candidates should have strong interpersonal and computer skills, a willingness to learn the library's circulation software, customer service experience, and effective multitasking abilities. Flexibility in scheduling and previous library experience preferred.
Physical demands/working conditions: Must be able to push and pull library book carts weighing 100-300 lbs. and regularly stand, walk and use hands to perform tasks for most of the day. Must be mobile and physically able to reach up or down to shelve or retrieve materials.
