Duties: Major duties include reference desk coverage, readers' advisory, programming, and collection development (acquisitions, cataloging, and weeding). Additional duties include patron instruction on all online resources to which the library subscribes and updating library's social media platforms. Attend professional development meetings as scheduling allows. Perform other duties as necessary and assigned.
Qualifications: Master of Library/Information Science degree from an ALA- accredited library school. Excellent in-person and telephone customer service skills, with ability to empathize and relate to patrons' needs. Broad reading knowledge. Good technical skills, which includes knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007 and later; Android and iOS operating systems; and eBook readers and tablets. Should be creative and bring ideas for programs, services, displays, etc. Must have access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license. Ability to lift boxes and push carts of books. Knowledge of SirsiDynix Enterprise and Workflows, and fluency in Spanish would be pluses, but are not required. Selected candidate will be subject to and must pass a background check.
