The Wilmington Public Library District has an immediate opening for a Youth Services Manager. Under the direct supervision of the Library Director, this friendly and outgoing person will be responsible for the operation of the Youth Services Department, directly supervises one part time Youth Services Assistant and acts as the Librarian in Charge a minimum one night per week and one weekend per month. This is a full time exempt position and the duties include but are not limited to: Planning , scheduling, promoting, implementing, and evaluating programs for children (newborn through high school;) develop and maintain the Youth Services Collection, provide outreach and act as liaison for the library in the community and at regional library youth services groups. The Ideal candidate will have an MLS, but we will consider an MLS student with solid Youth Services experience; strong knowledge of procedures, practices and technologies used in today's public libraries. A minimum of one-year experience in a public library, preferably in Youth Services or three years in a public contact position must have reliable transportation and the ability to lift and carry up to twenty pounds.
