Responsibilities: This full-time position manages the day-to-day operations of the Circulation Services department and is responsible for all related activities in the Library, as well as for creating a climate of friendly and efficient customer service; supervising and training department employees; interacting with customers and the public at large to create a favorable impression of library service; solving problems; and serving as a member of the Library's Management Team. The work schedule may include evenings and weekends as needed.
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from a college or university of recognized standing and five years of progressively responsible, successful experience in a customer service position, preferably in a public library — Preferred: Prior management training or experience; proven supervisory experience; and extensive experience with integrated library systems — Desirable: Master's degree in library and information science from a program accredited by the American Library Association; and a person who is flexible, fun-loving, well organized, tactful, resourceful, and good-humored.
