Palatine Library’s Marketing Team named Library Journal’s 2019 Marketer of the Year recipients

Palatine, IL – October 2019 – Palatine Library's Marketing Team, Andrea Lublink, Kiel Cross, and Jean Bolliger, were announced as the winners of the third annual Library Journal 2019 Marketer of the Year Award. The team was specifically recognized for their referendum marketing campaign. The award, sponsored by Library Ideas, comes with a $2,000 cash prize.

Library Journal, a national publication that advocates for librarians and libraries, has created this award to recognize the importance of innovative approaches to marketing of library services, the role of marketing in building library engagement, and the value of quality marketing collateral to help build a vibrant sense of the library and define its relevance in the community. The award places a special emphasis on an individual (or team) working for a library who has instituted or reinvigorated a marketing strategy.

The Palatine Library Marketing Team presented clear and simple messaging to the public in preparation for the Library's April 2019 referendum, which passed by a 64% vote. All of the planning and preparation created by the team was crucial to the success of referendum. An impressive set of collateral served to inform the public about the Library's needs and delivered messaging that shows the immense value the Palatine Library provides to the community.

"Over and over, residents told us how much they appreciated the transparency of our messaging," said Executive Director Jeannie Dilger. "The Marketing Team did a fabulous job making sure the community had all the information they needed to make a decision, and they richly deserve this award."

Communications and Marketing Manager Andrea Lublink said, "My team worked really hard to put together a cohesive marketing plan that would connect with the community. We are thrilled to be recognized for our work and to be acknowledged among marketing colleagues who work tirelessly at showing the importance and value of libraries!"
