Join us for the 6th Annual Oswego Literary Festival from 9am-1pm on Saturday, October 7. More than 40 Illinois authors will meet the public and sell their work. This is a fun and festive morning filled with music and camaraderie.
Our featured speaker is Donna Seaman, Adult Books Editor for Booklist, published by the American Library Association. "Reading with Intent: The Art of Book Reviewing" will be presented from 11-11:45am and no registration is required. This is perfect for librarians, authors, and the interested public.
A recipient of the James Friend Memorial Award for Literary Criticism and the Studs Terkel Humanities Service Award, Seaman has written for the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, and many other publications. A member of the Content Leadership Team for the American Writers Museum and a frequent presenter at various literary events and programs, Seaman has collected her author interviews in Writers on the Air: Conversations about Books. Her new book is Identity Unknown: Portraits of Forgotten Women Artists, about which the Washington Post wrote: "Female creators rise in all their splendor and defiance in Donna Seaman's wonderful new book, . . . Seaman [is] an enchanting biographer."
