The Board of Trustees and the staff of the Messenger Public Library of North Aurora Illinois (113 Oak St.) will be celebrating the library's 80th year of service to the community of North Aurora on Sunday August 6, 2017 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. during an Open House celebration.
In addition to celebrating eighty years of service the open house event will also celebrate the end of a five year $1.5 million renovation project that was completed this past spring.
The Open House is being held in conjunction with and during the Village of North Aurora's Annual North Aurora Days community celebration.
The Open House event will include: a rally in support of libraries (1:15 p.m.) a ribbon cutting (2:30 p.m.), cake and refreshments, a book sale (1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.), ice cream (the Windy City Ice Cream Truck) and musical entertainment (1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.) on the north lawn of the library.
