The Oak Brook Public Library is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic individual with good organizational skills to join its staff. You will work closely with the entire Library staff to serve library patrons. The position is part-time and non-exempt. This position reports to the Director and Circulation Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDING, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Represent the Library in a positive fashion to all visitors and guests. Be responsible for shelving library materials and maintaining shelf order in all collections. Added responsibilities include assisting with special projects that support patron usage of collections and services.
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions, have a valid Illinois Driver's License, able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Wide flexibility of movement is required including standing, bending, and lifting. Pushing a book cart of fifty pounds is also required. Excellent computer skills are desired.
Candidate screening process may consist of an application review, employability assessment, interviews, reference checks, and other verifications. Chosen candidates will be subject to a background and criminal history investigation, and qualifying pre-employment medical examination and drug screen.
