She will cover bench marking your program to set realistic goals, donor relations, stewardship (thanking your donors in meaningful ways to build your relationship), marketing materials, online giving, tribute and memorial gifts, project selection, volunteer engagement, direct mail projects, and event planning.
Lauren Chilvers, the Fundraising Librarian started her career in television where she honed her skills on presenting, marketing, and storytelling. When she discovered libraries as a career path, she started her graduate studies in Library Science at Dominican University. Library fundraising found Lauren when she was hired at The Newberry Library in their fundraising department. Ten years later she has worked as a professional fundraiser at Dominican University, The Warren-Newport Public Library District, and currently Harper College. Lauren's passion is helping libraries fund projects that are outside their budget while connecting donors and staff to the joy of giving to libraries.
