I am coordinating an all day workshop intended for public libraries who are interested in doing a building project someday, but don't know where to start. I have worked with the LACONI Admin Section to develop an all day workshop to tackle this topic.
On Friday February 26th you can hear how one Illinois library district (mine!) succeeded in building one new facility while completely renovating and expanding two others. This program was 5 years in the making and you won't want to miss it!
Learn how to tackle challenges such as determining how much additional space you need, hiring architects, passing a referendum, selling your bonds, conducting the bidding process, and managing construction. You can even hear from librarians who lived through this and what their advice is for those who need building updates.
