ExceleRate Illinois Provides Resources for Illinois Libraries

ExceleRate Illinois, the state’s first quality recognition and improvement system for all early learning programs, helps parents find quality early learning in their community. Parents can visit www.excelerateillinois.com, type in their zip code, and find quality programs nearby.

ExceleRate Illinois evaluates early learning programs based on a consistent set of standards organized into four areas: Teaching and Learning; Family and Community Engagement; Leadership and Management, and Qualifications and Continuing Education. Programs receive an ExceleRate Illinois Circle of Quality (Bronze, Silver, or Gold) designation following a verification process to demonstrate that they have met specific requirements.

In addition to the searchable database, which will continue to expand as new programs qualify, www.ExceleRateIllinois.com offers parents a variety of resources about the importance of quality early learning to a child’s success in school and in life.

Watch for a kit that RAILS libraries will receive with a variety of tools (such as bookmarks, posters, brochures, and table tents) to promote the importance of quality in early learning.
