The excitement and adventure of "Pirate Island Educational Exhibit" sails into the Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove, Elgin, Illinois starting Friday, October 7. It is a fantasy world of Pirate adventure brought to life with interactive games, stories and STEM activities that include navigation, compasses and pulleys.

The centerpiece for the exhibit from the Miami Children's Exhibit is a pirate ship in which children can go in and explore. At Pirate Academy, visitors have the opportunity to walk on a plank and apply their sailor skills to tie knots and handle ropes. Learn to speak Pirate with phrases such as: Yo Ho Ho; Davey Jones Locker; and Shiver me Timbers! Everyone gets a map to follow that leads to pirate treasure. The upper decks of the pirate ship will be open from 3-5 pm on weekdays.
