Explore More Illinois, RAILS' online cultural and recreational pass program for Illinois libraries, welcomes its newest attraction, Dillon Home Museum in Sterling! Historical home of the Dillon Family, founders of Northwestern Steel & Wire Co. in Sterling. The Dillon Home Museum is a work of Italianate Architecture built in 1858. Washington Dillon purchased the home in 1882. Filled with treasures and virtually untouched by time, the home is a place you must visit to learn the local history. Unique from most historic home museums, The Dillon Home retains all of the original furnishings and belongings, as the estate was conveyed to the Sterling Park District after PW.'s passing in 1980. General Admission: $5.00 Seniors (60+): $4.00 5 & under: Free
