Retirement Party for Director Patricia Smith on June 20

We would like to invite RAILS members to the Robert W. Rowe Public Library for a Retirement Party in honor of Director Patricia Smith. The celebration will be Monday, June 20th, noon-3:30pm at 120 E. Si Johnson Avenue, Sheridan Illinois.

Smith is retiring after serving the community for over two decades. For the past five years, she has served as the director of the Robert W. Rowe Library. Starting her career as an Adult Page at Fountaindale Public Library, within a short time she moved her way up to Information Services Clerk. She acquired her Library Technical Assistance certificate from the College of DuPage and her Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Northern Illinois University. She continued on to receive a Master of Arts in Library & Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Patti has actively been involved with PrairieCat Administration Council, Engagement Committee, Resource Sharing Committee, Circulation Committee, and Tech Services Committee. She has participated with the RAILS Board, ILA Marketing Forum, West of 47, and Serena's local Lions Club. The board and staff wish Patti well on her new adventures.
