A New Book Bike At La Grange Park Public Library!

This spring and summer, a beautiful, new Book Bike will be hitting the streets of La Grange Park. Library staff are busy planning outreach and programs to utilize this new tool for engaging with the community. With the goal of reaching patrons and non-users in spaces where they feel most comfortable, the library will bring books and materials to local parks, schools, businesses, and more.

The purchase of the Bike was made possible through funds donated by the La Grange Park Friends of the Library. A successful chrysanthemum plant sale was held last fall and raised over $4,000 to put towards the purchase of the Book Bike. Library staff were thrilled to see the community rally around the idea of a Book Bike and lend so much support for the project.

The Book Bike is on display now in the lobby of the La Grange Park Public Library and will soon make its maiden voyage to a nearby park for an Arbor Day celebration.
