For the second year in a row, RAILS will be offering My Library Is... Grants for School Libraries. These grants are designed to help school libraries tell their story and advance projects for maximum visibility in their schools and communities. This year, there are some slight changes to the awards:

  • School libraries can apply for up to $5,000 in funding (an increase from $1,000 last year)
  • Applications must include a statement of equity, diversity, and inclusion

RAILS is inviting creative approaches that emphasize some aspect of marketing, promotion, storytelling, and/or advocacy. Projects may include: creation of videos or podcasts, working with a marketing consultant, developing printed marketing materials and more. For more ideas, please see a list of last year's recipients.

Instead of a written application school libraries may submit a video description of their project. The video must be hosted on a third-party video platform such as YouTube or Vimeo. To apply, simply paste a link to the video in the Description section of the application. All libraries applying by video must also submit a written budget.

This grant is intended only for RAILS school libraries. School libraries can verify that they are RAILS members by searching the L2 Member Directory. For more information, please contact Dan Bostrom, RAILS Member Engagement Manager, 630.734.5152. Applications are due Monday, April 18, 2022.
