Joint Library Programming Group

After the great success of collaborative programs like Dr. Ibram Kendi, the Long Shadow Q&A with Director Frances Causey, and Harlan Coben, in the past year, a number of libraries have been working on creating the Illinois Joint Library Programming Group which will provide high-quality online events at equitable prices for participating member libraries of all sizes and budgets. The group is still in the early stages of planning, but you can learn more about their goals: https://bit.ly/3dusRtv.

A number of libraries have also reached out to RAILS on what we will be able to offer regarding these types of cooperations and helping answer common questions. RAILS has created an FAQ with this information. Please see the attached PDF.

At this point, the programming group is looking to see what interest there is for this in the Illinois library world and are asking for those interested to fill out this survey so they can learn more about what you would find helpful/look for in a group that offers regular high quality virtual programming.

Library administration and any staff that offers programming is encouraged to fill out this survey: https://forms.gle/xUndUzChhRh6trrt9. Multiple surveys for libraries are ok. It should take about 3-5 minutes to complete the survey.

Anyone that fills out the survey will be added to a list that they will use to keep everyone up to date on what is happening with this group's joint library programming efforts.

If you have any questions, contact them: jointlibraryprogrammingil@gmail.com.
