NEMRT Library to close Permanently by June 30

Due to reductions in the funding available for police training, North East Multi-Regional Training (NEMRT) regrets that it must close its library. As of June 30, 2020, the NEMRT Instructors Library will be closed permanently.

For thirty-two years, the NEMRT Library has supported the information needs of criminal justice instructors, students, and professionals in the Chicago area. Thanks to OCLC, it was able to extend access to its many unique holdings throughout the country via interlibrary loan. Sarah Cole, who has managed the library since its inception, reports that NEMRT is arranging for another library to absorb its collection. Information on where to look for the frequently-requested books that were available through the NEMRT Library should soon be announced.

The NEMRT Library has appreciated all the help and support the RAILS Library System, and the DuPage Library System before it, have given the library over the years. The library staff hopes RAILS will continue to be as helpful to others as it has been to the North East Multi-Regional Training Instructors Library.
