The Illinois State Library and the Illinois Complete Count Commission are asking for help from libraries to publicize the availability of census jobs. Libraries can help by posting flyers made available in English and Spanish, linking to census jobs information on websites, in e-newsletters, and on social media, as well as any other creative ways of spreading the message.
It is important to stress again the significance of getting a complete count in Illinois, as it will affect library funding and our representation in Congress. This is a great opportunity for residents in your library community to step up and support the census efforts by applying for a job with the US Census Bureau. Illinois is in great need of filling all levels of positions to ensure an accurate count of every resident in the 2020 census.
Visit the RAILS web page on Libraries and Census 2020 for more information about how to maximize participation throughout Illinois.
