Intended audience: Technical Services staff who want to learn how to use Authority Control at their libraries.
What is Authority Control, why is it important? How can Authority Control help provide consistent access and what does it have to do with MARC? For answers to these questions and more, come to the LACONI TSS program Introduction to Authority Control. Paul Frank, NACO/SACO Coordinator for the Library of Congress will join us remotely via WebEx for an introduction to the topic, followed by in-person presentations on different aspects of authority control such as Name Authority Records, Uniform Titles, Genre Authority Records and more. If you have specific questions about authority control, please send them ahead of the workshop to Joy Anhalt, janhalt@tplibrary.org.
Please note that there is a registration fee which includes lunch: Members $30.00; Non-members $40.00.
