EPL Hosts 10 Children's Authors in 1 Fabulous Event

10 Authors, 1 Event

September is a time for new starts including getting back to school, reading new books and meeting new people! That's why the Evanston Public Library is pleased to host ten local children's book authors with exciting new books to share in a fun and multi-faceted event open to all.

Author Sarah Aronson will host the panel featuring Lisa Jenn Bigelow, Betsy Bird, Carolyn Crimi, Celia C. Perez, J.S. Puller, Barb Rosenstock, Evelyn Sanchez-Toledo, Sara Shacter, and Allan Woodrow. This event, co-sponsored by the Evanston Public Library, Booked, and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), is part of SCBWI's Read Local initiative that is dedicated to connecting teachers, librarians, and booksellers with local published writers and illustrators throughout Illinois.

All who love great children's books and meeting those who write them—families, teachers, librarians, kids, and others—are welcome. There will be trivia. There will be prizes for children (recommended for those in Grades 3 and up) who attend. Authors will answer questions about their books and the creation process and autograph books, on sale from Booked, Evanston's independent children's bookstore. Any of these titles make great gifts for upcoming birthdays and holidays.

This multi-author event will take place on Sunday, September 15, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, in the Community Meeting Room at the Main Library, 1703 Orrington. Link to the event on the Evanston Public Library website at https://evanston.libnet.info/event/2993126
