Schaumburg Library's Rasmussen Room was filled with 75 U.S. citizenship candidates from 25 countries on Friday, Sept. 15 as they awaited the reciting of the U.S. Naturalization Oath. They were welcomed by the branch chief of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, as well as Library Board President Julie Wroblewski Bosshart. Facing flags posted by Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates American Legion Post 1983, they took the oath, then placed hands on hearts to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Following the ceremony, the new U.S. citizens were invited to a reception hosted by the library.
