Student patron filming her book review from summer reading programs

White Oak Public Library & Kelvin Grove LRC teamed up this summer to encourage students to read and participate in summer programs -- both at the public library and at Kelvin Grove's Learning Resource Center. In addition to all the wonderful programming and events hosted by White Oak's three library branches (Crest Hill, Lockport, Romeoville), the Kelvin Grove School library remained open for students in June and early July, so that students could utilize the LRC MakerSpace and continue to check out books, too. The collaboration between the public library district and the school district (Milne-Kelvin Grove District 91) brings the best of both worlds to their student patrons. Students finished some of their Book Bytes film projects on August 3rd in the Lockport branch. KG's Sharon Bruemmer visited with the portable green screen equipment and filmed student book reviews in the children's activity room with the help of White Oak's Jane Gardner. Visit and for information and updates from the White Oak Public Library District and the Kelvin Grove Learning Resource Center. You can follow White Oak ( @WhiteOakLibrary )and Bruemmer ( @cyberlibrary ) on Twitter, too.
