The Illinois Solo Librarians Network (ISLN) was formerly known as the Chicago Area Solo Librarians (CASL). This group was formed in 2001 by some solo librarians in Chicago who wanted to meet and network, to commiserate and celebrate, the challenges of life as a solo librarian. Solo librarians are those who run their library as the sole professional librarian, though sometimes they may have a library assistant or interns.
The Kankakee Area Library Association (KALA) includes academic, public, school, and special libraries based within Kankakee County, Illinois and the surrounding areas.
