Messenger Public Library seeks an energetic, enthusiastic person committed to providing excellent customer service. This person will understand and apply library policies and procedures while safeguarding confidential and restricted information. Responsibilities for this position include: welcoming library visitors, qualifying visitor requests & connecting visitors with the appropriate resource, managing patron accounts, processing holds, checking in materials, shelving materials and other duties as assigned.
Benefits include IMRF retirement plan. After one year of employment, employee is eligible for a prorated 56 hours of paid time off.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Customer service experience
Physical agility to shelve materials and ability to load and unload carts/bins of library materials
Proficiency with office equipment and basic computer software
Spanish language skills a plus
