Are you invigorated by change? Do you relish processes and details? We are looking for a friendly person with excellent customer service skills to join our evolving department. Duties include but are not limited to checking items in and out, registering library cards, resolving account issues, emptying book drops, shelving returned items and other materials handling. The successful candidate must also be able to effectively answer phone, chat, and in person inquires, and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
This position includes day, evening and weekend hours, and averages 22 hours per week. Applicants must be able to bend, stand up to four hours, carry up to 20 pounds, and move wheeled carts weighing up to 300 pounds.
Education and Skills: High School diploma and one year's experience in a public contact position. Must have strong computer skills and effective multitasking abilities. Previous library and/or customer service experience and flexibility to work additional hours is greatly desired.
Salary and benefits: $12.53 per hour. Benefits include paid sick and vacation time. This position also qualifies for inclusion in IMRF (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund).
