Job Description:
The Pinnacle Library Cooperative has an opening for a part-time Member Services Librarian. This is a
newly created position that will work approximately 15 hours per week.
Working closely with the ILS Manager, the Member Services Librarian will assist in the implementation
of projects for the Cooperative. The position will specialize in training and instruction for member
libraries but will also provide general support to all member library staff.
Core Job Functions:
 Develops training materials and instructs library staff in use of the Cooperative's integrated
library system and related systems through in-person and virtual training sessions.
 Designs and maintains training resources and procedural documentation for member libraries.
 Updates content on the Pinnacle website and staff intranet
 Creates and maintains financial records for the Cooperative
 Performs basic accounting functions in online financial system
 Maintains and organizes electronic and physical records for the Cooperative.
 Attends professional meetings, both internal and external to the Cooperative.
 Assists with the operations of the Cooperative's integrated library system and other related
 Provides on-call support as needed
 Performs other duties as assigned
Scheduled hours are flexible, but may include days, nights, and weekends and may be on-call as needed.
The position will require occasional travel to member libraries.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Requires expertise acquired through completion of associate's or bachelor's degree in a field
consistent with the responsibility of the position. MLS or current MLS students preferred.
 2 years of relevant experience working with libraries or integrated library systems required.
Familiarity with Polaris preferred.
 Knowledge and experience with producing training materials required.
 Able to use sound judgement in applying the principles of librarianship in a customer driven
 Strong knowledge of productivity suites and Microsoft Office.
 Ability to incorporate technology into training and other services
 Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement.

The salary for the position is $20/hr. Pro-rated vacation, sick and personal time available after the first
year of employment.
