Responsibilities include providing direct public service duties, which include the check-in and check-out of library materials, library card registrations, placing holds, calling patrons that holds are ready for pick-up, collecting fees, processing overdue materials, answering the telephone, and other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED equivalency examination, computer and technology skills, the ability to communicate effectively in English (both orally and written), and at least one year experience in a job with direct customer service. The successful candidate must provide excellent customer service, must be highly organized and accurate, and must have a flexible schedule and a good sense of humor. Bilingual language skills and experience working within the circulation department of a library are preferable.
