Danville Public Library, located in Danville, Illinois, seeks a dynamic and experienced Reference Librarian to lead the Reference and Archives department.
We are looking for someone with strong communication, organizational, managerial and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate will be tech savvy, customer service focused and ready to streamline and update our processes.
The Reference and Archives Department performs reference services, assists patrons with public access computers (including classes), carries out research in the areas of genealogy and local area history, and creates programs for adults. Applicants should have experience in collection development, databases and other essential reference services.
The library serves 500 patrons daily and circulated 125,027 items in 2018, with an operating budget of $1,964,035.
The Reference Librarian position is a full-time (37.5 hours/week), exempt, managerial position that supervises four employees and reports to the Director.
Qualifications: Master's degree in library science (completed or near completion) and a minimum of two years of satisfactory public library experience or its equivalent. Supervisory experience preferred.
Compensation: Salary begins at $50,000 based on qualifications and experience, plus a full benefits package.
