DBRL seeks a dynamic, innovative and collaborative leader for the Circulation Department of the Columbia Public Library, with responsibility for circulation policy development and training throughout the Daniel Boone Regional Library system. The Circulation Manager has responsibility for department personnel and daily operations, interpretation of library policies including ensuring that policies protect patron confidentiality and privacy rights.
This position leads a department of talented staff in maintaining a service-oriented vision for patrons and staff. To do so, the circulation manager must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and enjoy the administrative challenges of working with an outstanding group of diverse people and projects. Must have excellent communication and problem solving skills and the ability to effectively listen to and respond to patron inquiries.
MLS from an accredited institution; three years increasingly responsible library experience including leadership of public library services and staff. Prefer five years experience in a public library with two or more years of staff supervisory, and demonstrated project management and ILS experience.
