16 hours per week (Tuesday 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.; Monday or Wednesday 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Friday 10:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) One weekend per month is required.
Commensurate with experience and qualifications

This position provides library services, including programming, readers' advisory, and collection development, to young patrons and their caregivers.

Primary duties include:

  • Responsibility for one or more areas of collection development including working within the assigned budget, selecting appropriate current materials, and maintaining the collection by continually weeding outdated materials.
  • Developing and conducting story times, book discussions, and other programs to children ranging in age from birth to high school, both inside and outside the library.
  • Assisting and instructing patrons using virtual resources, downloading digital content, and using publicly available technology including computers, printers, copiers, scanners, fax, etc.

Education: Bachelor's degree or LTA preferred or equivalent library experience.
