Technology Reference Assistant (Adult Services)

Responsibilities: The Technology Reference Assistant focuses on excellent customer service to Library patrons. Responsibilities include: assisting patrons with computer and equipment questions, individualized computer coaching, teaching computer classes, providing readers' advisory service, troubleshooting computer and equipment problems, and offering directional assistance and basic reference assistance.
Qualifications / Acceptable Experience and Training: Required: A Bachelor's degree or Associates Degree with two years' experience with either computer coaching, teaching or training. Intermediate computer skills, including internet and Microsoft Office programs. Ability to teach computer classes and create customized computer coaching lesson plans. Familiarity with current popular fiction and non-fiction and basic reference materials. Ability to learn appropriate computer and equipment applications and troubleshooting techniques. Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written. — Desired: A person who is flexible, fun-loving, well-organized, tactful, resourceful, and good-humored.
Compensation: Starting salary is negotiable from $14.07 per hour and will depend upon qualifications and experience.
Schedule: 2:45PM – 9:00PM Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 11:45AM – 5:00PM alternating Sundays and Occasional weekday morning hours. Averages 15 hours per week over the course of a year.
