Library Assistant I – temporary and part time
Library/Learning Resource Center
Under the direction of the Dean, Learning Resource Center, in charge of circulation, periodicals, acquisitions, cataloging, or collection management, the Library Assistant I performs various routine tasks in the designated library area serving staff, students, alumni, and community borrowers.
The Library Assistant I is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum 6 months related experience and/or training in service setting environment.
Must have excellent customer service skills; must be willing to work cooperatively with a diverse population; Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook experience is necessary; previous database experience is helpful; must be able to multi-task and endure frequent interruptions; general working knowledge of Sierra ILS is preferred; ability to prioritize work, remain focused, and pay attention to detail; must have cash handling experience; familiarity with shelving materials using both the alphabet and the Library of Congress cataloging system; plus other duties as assigned.
Part Time Temporary
Temporary part time position
Weekdays between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm as needed.
Weekends as needed.
