Our member-driven organization seeks a creative and collaborative User Experience Specialist. At CCS, you'll work with experts in the library field to optimize the search and discovery experience for our 26 member libraries and the communities they serve. Your curiosity and ambition will shape this new role and our user experience strategy, and your commitment to customer service will be key to building successful partnerships with our members.

All CCS staff provide training, support, and consulting to our member libraries in their areas of expertise. We're looking for a candidate who is excited to work directly with end users. You'll partner with our libraries to set up usability testing in their libraries and use the results to develop evidence-based best practices. You'll also develop effective documentation and training tools to empower our members.

Some projects you'll work on:

  • Design and implement user testing at member libraries, covering topics such as notices, online search, my account management, service interruption communication.

  • Take ownership of online catalog testing, customization, and support. Develop best practices for catalog customization. Work with an advisory group of library staff to determine required or recommended practices.

  • Partner with Member Services Manager to assess current member-facing web tools. Develop recommendations to improve usability. Develop documentation best practices with a focus on accessibility.

  • Partner with Member Services team members to identify and implement tools for asynchronous learning.

  • Identify relevant continuing education opportunities for member library staff.
