Are you passionate about working with children and families? We're seeking a creative, enthusiastic team player to join us! It's an exciting time at Geneva Public Library as we build a new facility that will open in late 2019.
Under the general supervision of the Youth Services Manager, the Library Assistant provides direct service to the public through reference and readers' advisory service and programming for children birth – grade 8, and contributes to creating a positive environment and enthusiasm about the Library. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who uses technology confidently and routinely, has a passion for customer service, great attention to detail and a drive to provide excellent learning opportunities for the community.
Availability to work days, evenings and weekends.
Starting schedule: Monday 3pm-7pm, Tuesday 1pm-5pm, Thursday 1pm-5pm, + two Wednesdays per month 12pm-2pm, and a weekend rotation once per month Sat 9am-5pm / Sunday 12pm-5pm

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION:
- LTA certificate or B.A./B.S., preferred
- Ability to deliver presentations in areas of interest to youth, their caregivers and educators
- 2 years of library experience preferred
