Lake Villa District Library is seeking an enthusiastic, tech-savvy and customer service-oriented person to join our Youth Services team! It's an exciting time at LVDL, as we look forward to moving into a new facility in late spring 2019.

This part-time Reference Clerk position offers the opportunity to play a vital role in a very busy Youth Services Department. Duties include direct customer service support to the public, including reference and reader's advisory; handling program registrations; troubleshooting minor computer and equipment problems for patrons; providing important organizational support for Youth programs; creating booklists and planning displays; and more.

Our ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and self-motivated, as well as comfortable using technology (particularly Microsoft Office products) and office equipment. Relevant library experience working with youth and an interest in children's literature are strongly preferred.

Excellent communication skills are a must … a healthy sense of humor is a plus.

This position reports to the Head of Youth Services and will collaborate with Youth Services staff, as well as staff in other departments.
