The Glenview Public Library is seeking a resourceful, energetic and service-oriented librarian to fill a full-time School Services Coordinator / Librarian II position in the Youth Services Department. The School Services Coordinator is responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong working relationship with area schools and school personnel, conducting school visits, handling school loans and overseeing school/library partnership programs, such as, Battle of the Books. In addition, the position requires staffing the service desk assisting children through grade eight and their caregivers with reader's advisory and instruction using a variety of online resources. Candidates must be able to: collaborate well with team members, function smoothly in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication and customer service skills, demonstrate proficiency with current technologies and exhibit a strong knowledge of children's literature. May serve on in-house committees and as in-charge for the library.
Requirements: MLS from an ALA accredited institution. At least two years' experience in a library environment working with young people. Familiarity working with schools and K-8 students desired.
