Under supervision, provide reference and reader's advisory assistance for all ages using both print and electronic material. Assist in preparing reading lists, bibliographies and annotations. Provide library orientation and bibliographic instruction, using print and electronic resources. Under supervision plan, publicize and conduct library programs and exhibits. Prepare flyers, brochures and displays. May assist with collection maintenance and collection development, HOLDS, interlibrary loans, and materials conversion and edit procedures. May assist with community outreach. Interpret Library policy, procedures and regulations. Assist in supervision, training, evaluation and mentoring of staff. May assist in setting goals and objectives. Operate PCs to access internet, databases, word processing, office software, and circulation system. Perform simple PC/printer/software troubleshooting. Assist with reporting and resolution of building maintenance, security and custodial problems. Assist in compiling, preparing and maintaining records and reports. Attend regular meetings, workshops and training courses as assigned. May participate in library committee work and staff training as assigned. May act as person in charge. Perform related duties as assigned.

LOCATION: Sulzer Regional – 4455 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago, IL 60625
DAYS OFF: Two days off per week
SHIFT: Will be required to work Evenings and Saturdays
HOURS: 80 hours per month to be scheduled during normal unit hours
Mon - Thurs 9AM – 9PM, Fri &Sat 9AM – 5PM, Closed Sunday

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.

NOTE: Physical day to day responsibilities for this title may include the ability to lift and carry library materials. Ability to stand for extended or continuous periods of time. This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position will be selected.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
- Previous experience working in a library setting
- Previous experience with community engagement and outreach
- Public speaking experience
- Previous experience using social media technology
- Instructional experience with adult, young adults, and seniors
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and other interactive databases
Salary: $25.10 Hourly – Part-time position
