Joliet Public Library is seeking an innovative, creative and flexible leader to join our leadership team as Manager of our Technical Services Department, situated in a developing urban, downtown setting and serving a diverse community of over 147,000 with two branches. Our Ottawa Street Technical Services team coordinates cataloging, acquisitions, materials processing and integrated library system data analysis, in addition to leading and participating in collection maintenance and reclassification projects, establishing best practices for the development and showcasing of new and existing collections, and more! Our ideal candidate will have experience with leading initiatives, effective project management skills, cataloging and technical services experience and a great sense of humor. He or she will be able to collaborate with and motivate a talented and growing staff, implement new services, and serve the information needs of our diverse public.
- Master's degree in Library or Information Science (MLS) from an ALA-accredited university.
- 5 years' experience in a professional librarian position, with increasing responsibilities as a supervisor.
- A minimum of 2 years of technical services experience.
The starting salary is $28.97 per hour, DOQ. We offer excellent benefits -- 12 sick days per year, 5 weeks of vacation, and 10 holidays per year. IMRF (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund) is included as well as medical, dental and vision insurance plans.
