Batavia Public Library District seeks an experienced, creative and innovative, energetic, and service-oriented leader for its Promotional Services department, which is responsible for all aspects of public relations, marketing, and communications. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Library Director, this full-time position supervises one full-time Graphic Designer/Webmaster; manages the day-to-day public relations, marketing, graphic image, and communication operations of the Library and is responsible for (or oversees) all related activities; interacts with customers and the community to create a favorable impression of library service; and serves as a member of the Library's Management Team. Areas of responsibility or oversight (some in collaboration with others) include publications (brochures, print and electronic newsletters, posters, etc.), public-service announcements, news releases, and advertisements, graphical and editorial standards and style guides, displays and exhibits, signs, special events and projects, joint activities with other community organizations, Web sites, and social media. The work schedule will include evenings and weekends as needed.
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from a college or university of recognized standing in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field, as well as 3+ years' of responsible, successful experience in a related position. — Preferred: Supervisory experience and experience working in a leadership role for a library, not-for-profit, or service organization. Desirable: A flexible, fun-loving, well-organized, tactful, resourceful, and good-humored person.
