A creative, organized, youth-focused librarian is needed to keep our cutting-edge Young Adult services and collections growing. This position will give you the opportunity to work with a strong team of Youth Services staff, an amazing community of tweens, teens and young adults, a well-established YA collection, evolving programming, and a multilayered teen volunteer program.
Experience working with young adults, especially guiding classes or groups. Coursework in Young Adult literature, child development, or education required. Strong oral and written communication skills, technology skills including maker technology and organizational tools, e-resources, web and social media savvy. Ability to work collaboratively with a team of Youth Services staff, other library staff, and community
members. Innovative's Polaris experience a plus.
Plan and conduct programs for tweens and teens. Maintain the Young Adult collections including fiction, non-fiction, e-resources, and audiobooks. Assist library patrons with reference, readers' advisory, and
program information at a busy Youth Services desk. Promote Young Adult library services through patron interactions, generating written materials, and assisting with the creation of displays. Provide outreach to
and partner with schools and community organizations that also serve tweens and teens. Collect and Synthesize statistics in relation to schedules, programs, and collections for Young Adult programming and services.
