Position Summary: Provide access to library information resources and provide service to the IVCC community. Perform circulation activities including registering borrowers, charging materials to user records, receiving returned materials, renewing materials, and circulating reserve items along with responding to basic reference questions and directional questions about the facilities, policies and procedures of Jacobs Library.
Maintains piece-level record keeping system for library collections; performs basic copy cataloging; prepares new materials for circulation; maintains catalog records for electronic resources; repairs library items; prepares materials for special collections; performs catalog record cleanup; places and tracks new library materials orders and then receives and processes new materials.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; proficiency using a variety of online information products and application software including Microsoft Office; excellent customer service and organizational skills with ability to maintain accurate, detailed records; experience working in a library setting or similar environment; financial recordkeeping experience; and ability to lift up to 30 pounds in order to handle boxes of books and heavy carts required. Cataloging coursework or experience preferred.
