This is a 16 to 18 hours per week position (the hours may vary), with at least one evening a week and participation in a weekend rotation. This is a non-IMRF (pension) position with limited benefit earning potential.
Salary: 
Starting salary is $21.60 per hour.

The Oak Brook Public Library is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, tech-savvy individual to join its staff. As a Reference Librarian, you will work closely with the entire Library staff to serve library patrons.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide reference assistance, collection development, schedule programs, instruct patrons in the use of computers and perform other reference duties as assigned. Position requires excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MLS/MLIS from ALA-Accredited Institution, a valid Illinois Driver's License, able to stand and walk for extended periods of time are required. Must have knowledge of print and electronic sources; have excellent interpersonal and computer skills and a deep commitment to public service.

PHYSICAL/MEDTAL REQUIREMENTS: Wide flexibility of movement is required including standing, bending, and lifting. Pushing a book cart of fifty pounds is also required. Excellent computer skills are required.
