A collaborative mindset it critical as ALL of our staff members tag team to keep our building running despite financial challenges. Each position must be able to cross train and assist other areas. This is both challenging AND enriching as your skills will be honed and developed.
As we are a financially challenged Library, we do not provide health benefits or participate in IMRF. We do offer an atmosphere that is flexible, and provide mentorship that will help you grow in your career. This position accrues paid time off for vacation, a life insurance policy, and an employer provided health reimbursement account (HRA) of $50.00 per pay period, or $1,200 per year. Salary begins at $19.00 per hour.
30 hours per week, (we are closed on Friday) non-exempt position. Weekend shifts (in rotation ) are required as well as serving as a person in charge. This position reports to the Library Director. We know this is a full time list of duties for a part time job........and we hope to change that in the future. For now, building to our future requires a dedicated team.
Preference given to candidates with MLS or LTA, prior public Library experience and programming knowledge necessary. Other degrees considered based upon job history and Library experience. Though we ask a great deal of the person serving in this position, we know the experience alone is a tremendous asset to the future of our next Manager.
