Youth Programmers Group (YLA-Youth Librarians Association)

Abbreviation:
YLA

We are a group of youth services librarians, programmers and special events extraordinares! We usually have a special topic of discussion, share our program successes and failures, ask and offer tips and advice, and share helpful information about paid performers.

Although most of us are from public libraries in the north and northwest suburbs, we do meet at a different library each time. We welcome you to join our always engaging conversations and meetings.

We are also known in RAILS as the Youth Librarians Association (YLA).

Meetings:

Our meetings are usually held in September, November, January, March and May.

We hold meetings on the second Friday of the month from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, unless otherwise specified.

We do not meet in June, July or August so attention can be focused on our own library's summer reading program. September's meeting topic is centered on recapping summer reading successes and challenges.
