Library Administrators of Northern Illinois

Since 1954, LACONI has been introducing library staff to new technologies and ideas, best practices, and popular programs for children and adults. LACONI is comprised of eight different sections which offer programs designed to enhance skills and knowledge of library staff in their area of expertise.

The LACONI Salary Survey is an important resource for budgets and planning. Compensation is an important element that brings the best job candidates to the library, and retains them. Many organizations use market data surveys to structure their compensation systems. This salary and benefits survey confirms the market value for library staff performance, and justifies your compensation decisions to boards and city managers.

The Best of the Best Presenter Directory is a directory created by the Outreach, Promotions, and Programs (OPP) committee to help adult programmers in libraries find engaging and successful programs for their communities. Content is based on recommendations from LACONI members and librarians in the state and vetted by the OPP board. Initially published as a print directory, the guide was produced and distributed on a CD-ROM in 2009. In 2012 the content was turned into an online database available exclusively to LACONI members

The Harvest of Resources Directory is a valuable tool containing descriptions, costs, and contact information for hundreds of performers available for hire in the Northern Illinois area.
