RAILS L2 Support Services

In addition to hosting and maintaining the Library Learning (L2) server and software, RAILS offers the following to our members:
Scheduling Member Meetings Held at RAILS Facilities
Any RAILS member library group is welcome to schedule a meeting at an available RAILS location. RAILS staff will work with meeting organizers to find available dates, answer all questions that arise throughout the process and enter all meeting details on L2. If requested, RAILS staff will also provide a copy of the registration list for the meeting to the meeting organizer.

Posting Member Meetings Held at Other Locations
RAILS staff will list any member continuing education event or networking group meeting that is open to all RAILS member library staff on the L2 calendar. If requested, RAILS staff will also provide a copy of the registration list for the meeting to the meeting organizer.

General L2 Account Help
RAILS staff members receive requests for assistance using L2 on a regular basis. Common questions include requests for help in creating a new L2 account, updating L2 profiles and updating library resource sharing policies on L2. In addition to providing individual consulting assistance, RAILS also includes regular instructional articles on using L2 in the weekly message to members sent via the RAILS Announce list.

Development of New L2 Tools
RAILS staff is continuously on the lookout for ways they can improve members’ usage of L2. The most recent example is the development of a new search engine that provides enhanced capabilities for searching the L2 member library directory. Search options include library name, local and ILDS delivery codes, shared catalog, city, county, and more.
