The World Languages Networking Group invites interested librarians to a meeting on collecting Spanish language materials on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 (10:00 a.m. till noon) at Indian Trails Public Library (355 Schoenbeck Road, Wheeling).
Presenters include:

Draft Schedule of Programs and Speakers for On the Front Lines

The conference will be held on August 5, 6, and 7, 2013 at the University of Illinois Springfield, Public Affairs Center in Springfield, Illinois. 15th Annual Illinois Leadership Conference June 6

Put your assets to work!
For anyone seeking to manage and lead more effectively using existing resources, this is the conference for you. This interactive, hands-on conference will help you:
- Focus on existing resources
- Build on community and organizational assets
- Discover value in the networks, associations, and people in your community and organizations
Interactive workshops provide new information, a chance to learn practical skills, and opportunities to network with community leaders and community “do-ers” from across the state. The conference features nationally known speaker Tim Moore, from Generational Insights. Tim has extensive experience in business, industry, and education, and in helping others learn how to navigate the differences and value of multiple generations. Our luncheon speaker is Michael Perry, author of Population 485, Meeting Your Neighbors One Siren at a Time.
The conference offers a range of breakout workshops, including a community development clinic, basic leadership skills, listening skills and techniques, focus on the issues from Illinois elected officials, and a breakout session on strategies to drive local engagement in community projects. We’ll end the day with a discussion addressing the practical applications of the networking and learning. WorldShare Watch
Submitted by Renee Anderson on Wed, 05/01/2013 - 10:00amRAILS, IHLS, the Illinois State Library, and OCLC are working together to bring Illinois libraries the latest news about the OCLC WorldShare ILL migration.
OCLC WorldShare web-based training sessions will be announced soon for Illinois libraries. The training will begin at the end of May and run through November. Recordings of these sessions will be available to accommodate all work schedules.

Here are two steps that will help all Illinois OCLC libraries prepare for the migration to WorldShare:
OCLC Constant Data Record
1) Please update your library’s constant data records with the correct address fields. OCLC Constant Data Record Updating Tutorial: http://oc.lc/cU4q23.
OCLC Policy Directory
2) Please review the data for your library’s OCLC Policy Directory. If you have not set up policies, now is the time to do so.
If it has been awhile since you have looked at the Policy Directory, please review the information to be sure it still accurately reflects what your library does.

CCC Offers Scholarships to ALA Conference

We launched the program at the recent Association of College & Research Libraries' ACRL 2013 Conference in Indianapolis providing financial support that allowed four individuals to attend that conference.
We are happy to announce that we are continuing the program this time offering four scholarships to attend the 2013 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Chicago.
The Conference Scholarship Program awards up to four grants in the amount of $1,500 per conference. The scholarship can be used towards the cost of conference registration, travel, and other conference related expenses.
