Position Description: 

Position Summary
The Librarian is responsible for supporting delivery of library services through remote modes and face-to-face customer service to staff, faculty and students. Services include librarians' literacy instruction sessions with classes and individuals, preparation and maintenance of instructional and information materials, front-desk customer services as well as back-room technical processing. Librarian also assists director with assessment, record keeping, and planning as needed.

Key Job Responsibilities
Support face-to-face as well as remote delivery of literacy instruction sessions and other interactions between librarians, professors, and students. Reference assistance to customers contacting the library reotely and in person. Contribute to library services planning, promotion, and maintenance. Use a wide range of standard business softwares, corporation-defined applications, and remote-services delivery applications (ex. Adobe Connect, chat, instant messaging, Adobe Captivate, Jing. Assist faculty in planning library and research related classroom activities and learning materials as requested. Assess, plan for, and recommend new library materials. Publicity and outreach to the campus community as a part of the library's strategic plan. Assists the Director with record keeping, assessment, metrics and report writing as assigned. Assist students with common productivity software and provide first line troubleshooting. Create and maintain library website content, including research guides and other instructional materials.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree (M.A./M.S.) Library and Information Science 1 - 3 years related experience Experience in an academic, public or special library. Experience in a proprietary school environment a plus. Expert knowledge of Word, Excel, web searching, and library database searching. Proficiency in use of MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of standard business softwares, corporation-defined applications, and remote-services delivery applications (ex. Adobe Connect, chat, instant messaging, Adobe Captivate, Jing. Excellent knowledge of basic library methods, techniques and procedures. Demonstrable organizational and time management skills. Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective and collegial working relationships with associates in and out of the library, including faculty, staff, students and alumni Interest in exploring new technologies andapplying them to library services.
