Requirements:

MLS from an ALA accredited library school

Competent in emerging technologies and social media

Knowledge of reference and research procedures and materials

Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with all patrons and staff

Physical dexterity to retrieve materials from low and high shelves

Ability to guide patrons throughout the library

Must be able to travel locally

Preferences:

Current and relevant social media experience; the ability to train others and participate in programs and projects

Duties:

Initiate, develop, and present programs for adult services utilizing a variety of technology

Provide reference services and reader’s advisory

Select and maintain circulating collections

Prepare web site information, promotional literature, materials displays, and booklists, as assigned

Serve on assigned planning teams

Stay current on library policies and procedures

Other duties as assigned
